It has been a long time since I have had time to update this blog. I know, why even have one... Well since the last time I updated, I have gone back to work. It has been a really rough transition for me. I guess you just don't really know how you feel until you have that baby. Alex had been sleeping through the night before I went back to work but since I have gone back she has been getting up quite a bit. I know that part of it is going to daycare and getting many colds and some of it may have been a couple of growth spurts. At any rate, we have made it through the first couple of months.
During the month of December we have had many visitors. My whole family came down the first weekend in December for the Big 12 Championship. It was so much fun! We had a house full and even though the Huskers didn't pull it out, it was still a blast.

Alex also turned 5 months old on the 23rd. I can not believe that it has been five months since she was born. She has done so much since then. The latter part of October she laughed for the first time. No better sound in the world then your baby laughing. The towards the middle of Nov (I think, I have it all written down) she rolled over from her back to her tummy! Then in the middle of December she rolled over from her tummy to her back and has been doing that every time you put her on her tummy! And just recently, actually on the 23rd, she started sitting up all by herself. She is such a big girl. Overall, she is a very happy baby and loves people and loves playing with mommy and daddy. She also is eyeing our dogs so I'm sure they will be in trouble when she starts crawling. If we can just get these nights figured out we will be set.

Andrew, Alex and I spent Christmas in TX all by ourselves. It was nice to be able to spend Alex's first Christmas just the three of us. It was nice and relaxing. We went to church Christmas Eve and then went out to dinner with Derek, Tanya and Paxton at the Cheesecake Factory. Very fun. Then we went home and opened a few gifts. We actually skyped with my parents so they could watch her open her gifts from them. It wasn't much to watch. She of course liked the wrapping paper way more than her gifts! Below is a picture of her on Christmas Eve in front of the tree with her Christmas jammies on.

Here is a picture of her on Christmas morning. She was a pretty happy girl.

A picture of her on the butterfly rocker that Santa brought! I think she liked it so once she gets this sitting thing down she will have fun!

Here is a picture of us on Christmas day. We had Derek, Tanya and Paxton over for lunch on Christmas day. The adults played a few board games and had fun while the kids slept. It was nice to have them over and have a good lunch!!

Well that is what has been happening in our world. We will be taking a trip back to Nebraska soon. I will post pictures after we get back, who knows it may take a while. We hope that everyone has a wonderful new year that is full of blessings!
