8 Months and trips

Here are a few pictures from this month. I couldn't get a good 8 month photo this time. We also went to Nebraska to visit family. We took a trip to California with some friends to visit some friends. I can't believe that Alex is 8 months old already. We have been having so much fun together. I am staying at home and it has been great! There is never a lack of things to do. Since we have been back from California Alex has been sick with RSV again and she gave it to me. My mom drove down from Nebraska to take care of us. I have to say it is no fun to be a mommy and be sick! So call in the reinforcements to take care of us. Andrew has been super busy at work so that has been a bummer but we are looking forward to spring and the nice weather!

7 Months Old & Other Things

Our baby is 7 months old!!! How crazy is that????!!! She has been such a great baby. We have finally started sleeping through the night. Mommy is a very happy mommy! I can't believe how refreshed I feel! We are working on Nap time. I have transitioned to being at home. I am working from home part-time right now and am going to be transitioning to being home full time in the next month or so. It has been so fun being at home with her and watching her grow. I didn't know how it would be but it has kept me busy. There is always something to do and we have lots of people to hang out with and have lunch with. Alex is a very happy baby and as of today we have a crawler on our hands. It is weird because it has happened over night, literally! I will post more about that later. She is now 19 pounds and is around 27 inches tall. We did those measurements ourselves so they are just guesses. We couldn't be happier and we just love having her in our lives and feel so blessed! Below are some pictures of Alex during the month of February.

It is cold outside!

So Texas got one of the worst storms they have had in years. This has basically shut down most everything. The temperatures here have reminded me of Nebraska, so cold! So Alex and I have been hanging out for the last 3 days and we will be having another "snow day" tomorrow, which makes 4 days!!! We have had a blast. We have played, napped, made some baby food for her and even cookies! Andrew, of course, has had to go into work. He braved the roads and have made it to work everyday. We do miss hanging out with him and can't wait for the weekend. The only bad part about this is that we have not been out of the house for 3 days and starting to get cabin fever! Below are some pictures from the last couple of days!

Our Baby is 6 Months Old!!!!

Our little girl is 6 months old already!!! I cannot believe it has been 6 months since we have brought her home. She is such a happy baby. She has grown out of her fussy period that she had for the first three months in the evening. She is starting to talk, she will probably be like her mommy! She is sitting up on her own and is even getting up on her knees. I don't think it will be long before she starts crawling. She loves to sit and just bounce up and down while talking! We are still having trouble sleeping through the night. Mommy and Daddy are working on that! We just love her so much and can't imagine our life without her!
At her 6 month check up she was 18 pounds and 26 1/2 inches long. She is still in the 90th percent for her weight and 75th for her length. Below are some pictures I took of her around her 6 month birthday!

5 months and Christmas Pics

It has been a long time since I have had time to update this blog. I know, why even have one... Well since the last time I updated, I have gone back to work. It has been a really rough transition for me. I guess you just don't really know how you feel until you have that baby. Alex had been sleeping through the night before I went back to work but since I have gone back she has been getting up quite a bit. I know that part of it is going to daycare and getting many colds and some of it may have been a couple of growth spurts. At any rate, we have made it through the first couple of months.
During the month of December we have had many visitors. My whole family came down the first weekend in December for the Big 12 Championship. It was so much fun! We had a house full and even though the Huskers didn't pull it out, it was still a blast.

Alex also turned 5 months old on the 23rd. I can not believe that it has been five months since she was born. She has done so much since then. The latter part of October she laughed for the first time. No better sound in the world then your baby laughing. The towards the middle of Nov (I think, I have it all written down) she rolled over from her back to her tummy! Then in the middle of December she rolled over from her tummy to her back and has been doing that every time you put her on her tummy! And just recently, actually on the 23rd, she started sitting up all by herself. She is such a big girl. Overall, she is a very happy baby and loves people and loves playing with mommy and daddy. She also is eyeing our dogs so I'm sure they will be in trouble when she starts crawling. If we can just get these nights figured out we will be set.

Andrew, Alex and I spent Christmas in TX all by ourselves. It was nice to be able to spend Alex's first Christmas just the three of us. It was nice and relaxing. We went to church Christmas Eve and then went out to dinner with Derek, Tanya and Paxton at the Cheesecake Factory. Very fun. Then we went home and opened a few gifts. We actually skyped with my parents so they could watch her open her gifts from them. It wasn't much to watch. She of course liked the wrapping paper way more than her gifts! Below is a picture of her on Christmas Eve in front of the tree with her Christmas jammies on.

Here is a picture of her on Christmas morning. She was a pretty happy girl.

A picture of her on the butterfly rocker that Santa brought! I think she liked it so once she gets this sitting thing down she will have fun!

Here is a picture of us on Christmas day. We had Derek, Tanya and Paxton over for lunch on Christmas day. The adults played a few board games and had fun while the kids slept. It was nice to have them over and have a good lunch!!

Well that is what has been happening in our world. We will be taking a trip back to Nebraska soon. I will post pictures after we get back, who knows it may take a while. We hope that everyone has a wonderful new year that is full of blessings!

November 11, 2010

It's been a long time....

So a lot has happened since I last posted. Alexandra and I enjoyed our last weeks together while I was on maternity leave. I went back to work on November 1st. I has been very hard (mainly on mommy) but she has done pretty well. The first week Alex was sick and didn't sleep much at night. So that first week was rough. This week, I ended up getting one of my worst migraines I have had in years and Andrew was sick this week too. And to top it off I have a sore throat today! Anywho, enough of that nonsense. Below are some pictures from the last month. Alex was a pumpkin this year. She was pretty darn cute! We went to a pumpkin patch with Tom, Alison and Abbey on the 30th and it was lots of fun. So that is what we have been up to. We can't wait for the holidays!

Our first airplane ride and trip back to Nebraska!

This past week Alexandra and I spent the whole week back in Nebraska. We had so much fun visiting both sets of grandparents and for Alex to meet so many new people. She met lots of family and a few friends! It felt like we were on the go all the time but she did great. She slept really well and we really stayed on a good schedule. Alex did wonderful on the plane. On the way out she slept until we got on the plane, I feed her then she went back to sleep until we landed. On the way back she did awesome. Slept until we took off, I feed her, she was up half the flight and did well. She fell asleep, but woke right before we landed. Then mom had the great idea to try and put her in the carrier and she was not happy. And of course we had to wait on the runway. So I took her out of the carrier and she cried the whole time until we got to the bathroom to change her diaper.

While we were home we had a surprise birthday party for Andrew's dad. It was so fun and we pulled it off! It was nice to see everyone there. Then the next day, Andrew and I were sponsors for my brother's little girl Alison. It was a special day and everyone did well! We had such a good week in Nebraska and will miss everyone until the next time. It was also good to get home to our own stuff and our puppies! I will up date next week for her 3 month (12 weeks) update! I can not believe it has been 3 months already! Were has time gone to!
