It's been a long time....

So a lot has happened since I last posted. Alexandra and I enjoyed our last weeks together while I was on maternity leave. I went back to work on November 1st. I has been very hard (mainly on mommy) but she has done pretty well. The first week Alex was sick and didn't sleep much at night. So that first week was rough. This week, I ended up getting one of my worst migraines I have had in years and Andrew was sick this week too. And to top it off I have a sore throat today! Anywho, enough of that nonsense. Below are some pictures from the last month. Alex was a pumpkin this year. She was pretty darn cute! We went to a pumpkin patch with Tom, Alison and Abbey on the 30th and it was lots of fun. So that is what we have been up to. We can't wait for the holidays!

Our first airplane ride and trip back to Nebraska!

This past week Alexandra and I spent the whole week back in Nebraska. We had so much fun visiting both sets of grandparents and for Alex to meet so many new people. She met lots of family and a few friends! It felt like we were on the go all the time but she did great. She slept really well and we really stayed on a good schedule. Alex did wonderful on the plane. On the way out she slept until we got on the plane, I feed her then she went back to sleep until we landed. On the way back she did awesome. Slept until we took off, I feed her, she was up half the flight and did well. She fell asleep, but woke right before we landed. Then mom had the great idea to try and put her in the carrier and she was not happy. And of course we had to wait on the runway. So I took her out of the carrier and she cried the whole time until we got to the bathroom to change her diaper.

While we were home we had a surprise birthday party for Andrew's dad. It was so fun and we pulled it off! It was nice to see everyone there. Then the next day, Andrew and I were sponsors for my brother's little girl Alison. It was a special day and everyone did well! We had such a good week in Nebraska and will miss everyone until the next time. It was also good to get home to our own stuff and our puppies! I will up date next week for her 3 month (12 weeks) update! I can not believe it has been 3 months already! Were has time gone to!

Go Big Red!

First off, I cannot believe it has already been 2 months! Time really does fly by, people are kidding when they say that. We are having a blast! We have had a great time with family and friends that have visited. We enjoy our weekly visits from Alison and baby Abbey and our walks with Lisa and baby Kate. Alex has been sleeping on average about 6 hours. We are sooooo happy about that. She is eating really well and we are very blessed to be able to nurse. We go to the dr on Friday for her 2 month appt but she will technically be 9 weeks so I will have an update on stats later. We have a big girl on our hands. We are thinking she will be over 23 inches and around 13 pounds!

Baptism Day (8/22/2010)

Alexandra was baptized on Sunday and it was a wonderful day! We had lots of family and friends in town for the wonderful occasion. We are so blessed to have a wonderful church that Alex can be a part of. The service was wonderful as she was welcomed into God's family! Alex's sponsors were Ryan and Leah Kinworthy and Justin and Katelyn Malone. We are so excited for them to be a part of Alex's spiritual life! Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the service and help us celebrate this blessed day!

Happy 2 Week Birthday Alexandra

We can not believe it has been two weeks since Alexandra joined our family. We have had some good times and challenging times. Overall we have had a great two weeks. She has her fussy period but what baby doesn't. Andrew went back to work this week so we have just been hanging out. It hasn't been too bad. I think the schedule with feeding her every three hours takes up most of our days. Yesterday, Alex and I went to target by ourselves, it was fun! We have also had a few visitors this week which has been great! Thanks to everyone that has stopped by with lunch or dinner or to just visit! Becoming a mommy has been the best thing ever and I can't imagine anything different! God has blessed our family with a wonderful, beautiful daughter! Below are some pictures from the past week.

She's here!

Alexandra Nicole Kinworthy joined this world on Friday, July 23rd at 6:08pm. She weighed 8 pounds and was 20 3/4 inches long. The delivery was pretty quick but baby and mom did well. We can't believe that it has already been a week that she has been with us! Crazy how time flies.

Here is my birth story:
I started having contractions at 6:30am when I got up to go to work. I took and shower and got ready like any other day but started timing the contractions anyway and they were about 5 minutes apart for about a minute. I continued to time them and decided not to leave for work until Andrew got up. Shortly after he got up he started to time them and they were getting more intense. At about 8am they were about 4 minutes apart for one minute. They continued like this for another two hours. Finally at about 9:45-10ish we decided we better go to the hospital. So we finished packing the bag and packed everything in the car. We hoped we wouldn't get sent home! We arrived at the hospital about 10:20. I was hooked up to a contraction monitor and monitor for the baby's heart. My contractions went from 4 minutes to 3 minutes to 2 minutes apart. I was only 2 cm dilated so I wasn't for sure if they would keep me. Then at 11am my water broke and we knew we were having a baby that day! How excited we were. We called all the family to let them know to leave and make the long drive!

I was put into a labor and delivery room to continue the laboring process. My contractions were getting more intense and by 2pm I wanted an epidural. They checked my progress at 2pm and I was at 5 cm dilated. The epidural was sweet relief (I don't know how our mom's did without!). They let me rest until 5 pm when they came to check me again. The nurse had good news, I was at a 10!!!!! We couldn't believe it, so they prepped me for delivery and to push. Then my contractions went from 2 to 4 minutes apart which didn't help with pushing. Babies pulse had dropped a couple of times and then recovered. The she did it again but it stayed like that for about 4-5 minutes. The doctor gave me oxygen to see if that would help but it didn't so he called in a bunch of nurses to help and got the vacuum out! He had to use the vacuum twice on Alex so she had a cone head for a short time but I did the last two pushes and she was out at 6:08pm! So after about 12 hours of labor and 20 or so minutes of pushing, Alex joined the world.

It has been a ride every since. She is the most precious little girl and so adorable! We couldn't have asked for a better baby! She has light red hair and is super cute! The other issue we have been dealing with is that she has jaundice. We had to make daily trips to the pediatricians office to monitor it but it has gone down. I think with her feeding schedule and of course pooping schedule she has been able to get rid of it on her own. We thank God everyday for bringing this little miracle into our lives, we can't believe she is ours! Below are a few pictures of right after the birth. I will post some more recent ones in a bit!

Belly Pics 36 and 37 Weeks

So I'm at 37 weeks, Full Term!!! Yea! She can now come at any time. I can not believe we are three weeks away from her due date. It seems like it went so fast but of course the last few weeks have gone a little slow. We are so ready for her arrival. We have the car seat in the car, the bags packed and ready to go and all the essentials bought! Come on Alexandra! Here are my 36 and 37 week belly pics. Yes, I'm wearing the same outfit! It must be the most comfortable, it is getting hard to find things that fit and feel comfortable. I'm feeling as huge and a whale and ready for this baby to make her appearance! Anyway, keep your eye posted for big news hopefully sometime soon!

Couples Shower

We are so very blessed with wonderful friends. Two couples from our church family threw us a couples shower. It was so much fun to get together with everyone to celebrate Alexandra's arrival. We opened gifts and they had a relay game for the guys to see who could change a diaper, put on a dress and braid a dolls hair the fastest. It was pretty fun! We had some wonderful BBQ and it was just an overall fun party. Thanks to everyone who joined us and for all the wonderful gifts!

Belly Pics

Okay so I have been really bad about updating the blog. I hope that I can keep up with it after Miss Alexandra comes. Here are some belly pics from the past several weeks. I know that some have been asking me to post some. Sorry for the delay. I'm at 34 weeks and have 6 more weeks to go! I can't believe how very fast this whole pregnancy has gone. We are so excited to meet our little girl but are taking the opportunity to spend some quality time with each other while she is still in my belly! It seems like we have something to do every weekend until she gets here with all the planning and tidying up we need to do. I think Andrew thinks I'm overreacting sometimes when I get into one of my panic modes! I tell him we just have to be prepared. I think he thinks we are already plenty prepared! Anyway, hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. It has been so dang hot here and there is no end in sight so I will be staying inside and enjoying the air conditioning!
